The architect Alessio Coloni does not fit the prevailing image of Slovenian architects, most of them formed by the Ljubljana School of Architecture, until recently the only architectural school in the country, once  ruled by strong characters such as Jože Plečnik and Edo Ravnikar. It was exactly these common roots that  provided Slovenian architects a peculiar profile, which still marks Slovenian architecture despite all kinds of globalization.
